Myofascial release or MFR is a powerful combination of manual therapy techniques that focuses on the fascia, the bodies connective tissue. These use a sustained, gentle pressure releasing tension and restrictions that are causing pain or reduced movement.
MFR can help if you have chronic pain condition such as fibromyalgia or injuries too painful for massage. In addition, with MFR I can work with areas of scarring including caesarean, hysterectomy and mastectomy scars, helping to increase movement, reduce adhesions and improve the appearance of keloid scars. MFR has all the benefits of massage and can be a stand alone treatment or can be mixed with deep tissue massage.
Fascia is the tough connective tissue holding our bodies together, a 3D continuous web of elastin (for elasticity) and collagen (for strength) fibres that envelops every structure in the body including our muscles. ‘Myo’ meaning muscles. it’s normally fluid and pliable with the ability to move without restriction and varies in thickness throughout the body. Like muscle has the ability to contract and relax playing a role in mobility and stability of joints.

Reflexology is a natural holistic therapy that works by applying pressure to reflex areas of the feet. These correspond to all the major organs and glands with the anatomy of your body being reflected on your feet. It’s also possible to give Reflexology treatments to your hands or a combination of both.
Reflexology is suitable for all ages and may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. It helps us to cope physically and emotionally, encouraging us to heal and maintain health in all areas of our lives. Deeply relaxing Reflexology has many of the same benefits as body massage and is perfect for ease of accessibility. I use a refreshing natural mix of tea tree and mint or unscented vegan wax.
This traditional treatment has been practised in Asia for well over 2500 years but only in the 1930’s Eunice Ingham developed the foot reflexology charts. These show how particular parts of the foot relate to other parts of the body Less research than massage is available but studies show that Reflexology may help with pain reduction.

Abdominal Massage

Asian Abdominal massage stimulates our internal systems for optimal function, providing relaxation and relief from bloating, constipation, IBS symptoms and other digestive issues. The abdomen can become uncomfortable due to food and drink we consume, environmental factors and stress. Congestion in this area can also impact energy levels and can benefit us both physically and emotionally, helping with stress, anxiety, and depression.
The stomach is a delicate and vulnerable area so sensitivity and care is taken, starting with the skin and fascia before working deeper to release abdominal muscles and stimulate digestive organs.
For comfort, wear loose or stretchy clothing, with a sports type bra for women. The massage focuses only on your abdomen, and towels will protect your clothes. Abdominal massage is not a substitute for medical care. If you have any new, unusual, severe, or painful symptoms, please consult your GP first.

Oncology massage can be beneficial for those with a cancer diagnosis, helping relieve symptoms of cancer or side effects of treatments like chemotherapy. It can reduce fatigue, depression, nausea, insomnia, and pain, while easing sore muscles and scar tissue. Massage also helps improve range of movement, manage stress and anxiety, stimulate digestion and promote relaxation through deeper breathing.
Positioning is also considered for comfort and adaptations may be needed depending on your current health. These including using a lighter touch, adjusting session length, and avoiding affected areas like tumour sites or lymph nodes. A face massage and/or head massage, foot massage or hand massage can be as equally beneficial and comforting.
Massage isn’t a treatment or remedy for cancer but can be received in conjunction with conventional treatments. Sorry I’m unable to provide home visits.
